Reason to Celebrate

A wedding, a birthday and making it through a long week were all reasons to celebrate this weekend.

Starting with a wedding in VA! I was lucky enough to accompany Ken to Shrayes and Shruti’s nuptials on Friday evening – my first traditional Indian celebration! So fun. The company, dances and cuisine were all fantastic. We were situated in a prime location to witness a few different choreographed dances by the bride and groom and their friends and family.

Later in the evening I used my “screw the light bulb” move and luckily added a few more to my repertoire. Again, so much fun!

On Saturday we celebrated Claire’s birthday with an at-home gathering before heading out on the town. Shown here with Janina, Lesley, Claire, Amy, (surprise NYC guest!) Liz and Kelsey.

The cake needs a close-up! It was (still is… it’s a lot of cake) a four-layer vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and gold sprinkles, made by the woman of the hour herself. Amazing – Pinterest worthy for sure!

We even popped a few very safe confetti sparklers:

On Sunday, after a long week of work, studying and running to keep sane, I hit up only the best DC icecreamery – Thomas Sweet! They say chocolate milk is the best recovery fuel – so chocolate-Oreo frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles must be just as good for post-9 mile jaunts.
