This week I embraced every opportunity to tune into Mariah Carey’s Holiday Pandora station and partake in holiday activities (playlist highly recommended).
Festivities started by rolling out Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread cookies! ’Tis the season for cookie cutters and cocoa powder. Complements to Ana for the winning salty/sweet recipe!
Also ventured to the National Christmas Tree… twice! First made a pilgrimage to the Ellipse with Kelsey and Lesley and then again with Keely and Claire for an encore edition. Clearly just couldn’t get enough of those LED lights! This year, state trees are programmed by Google’s “Made with Code” initiative. The online or in-person kiosk system allows patrons to design a state’s light display for a designated time. Pretty neat! DC’s tree tradition originated in 1923; mine only since 2009.
More sensory overload occurred at the highly anticipated Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert! Lights, lasers & fog: rock on.
And wrapped up the week with a holiday party! A few great shots from the night:
